Hydroseeding is a mixture of water, seed, mulch, fertilizer, and tackifier. The tackifier makes the seed stick to the ground and is an integral part of the process. Hydroseeding has many benefits over traditional seeding methods. It reduces erosion by holding seeds in place while they germinate. Hydroseeding mixes all the components which are more convenient than mixing them yourself. As well as the components of hydroseeding being specially formulated for each area and situation, different types of mulch can be used based on what your needs are. Hydroseeding produces fast results; you will see germination within days depending on soil conditions and seed type. It's a cleaner process than sodding; no heavy machinery is needed and therefore there is little disruption to existing vegetation or landscaping.
